Macondo Bungalows

The property is beautiful and very well kept, Charlie and Mel (and Gypsy) are all very welcoming, and the location is a close walk to everything. Staying now in the upper room, basically all covered balcony with kitchen and living space all outdoors - the bedroom, while private is also nicely open. So pleased with my stay that I have already booked to bring my wife back in 5 weeks. :-)

We stayed at Macondo Bungalows during the Sand and Strings Music Festival. The festival was about a block from the event. Great festival as well.

Fantastic location, super clean and well taken care of, great AC, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, well stocked kitchen, and the best part is the owners Mel & Charlie and their pup Gypsy! We absolutely LOVE staying here!!

This is the second time we have stayed here and it was just as good 5 years later. We stayed in the loft. It was a great space. Plenty of room, a/c, clean, The kitchen was well stocked, so that we could cook some of our own meals. The management and staff take pride in their hotel. Since our last visit they have added a heated dipping pool so that even though you are just a 5 minute walk to the beach you can take a cooling dip in the pool anytime. Looking forward to going back!

My wife & I just returned from a two week stay at Macondo Bungalows and can't say enough good things about the experience. This was our sixth trip to Sayulita, staying at Macondo each time. The accommodations are first class. We stayed in the Terrace Bungalow this trip. With the exceptions of Traveler & Sunrise, we have stayed in every unit ant Macondo and have been very impressed with the cleanliness, amenities & the spaciousness of the bungalows each time. Small things like beach chairs and sun umbrellas in each unit & an awesome saltwater pool in the center of the compound make the stay all the more enjoyable. As hosts, Mel & Charlie are second to none; they are both very personable & helpful at all times. They work very hard to make each patron's stay extremely comfortable.

I stayed at Macondo for 5 months and Charlie and Mel made it feel like home for me. It is the best location in Sayulita, on the north side and less than a 5min walk to the beach and has a secure access so I always felt safe. The bungalow was equipped with everything I needed for my stay and more, the complex is really well maintained and there is daily cleaning service if you need it. I loved having the pool to cool off on hot days, they also provide beach chairs, towels, umbrellas etc which are a really nice addition. I recommended friends to stay here and I look forward to coming back and staying with them again.

Fantastic stay here. - Very central location. - Very attractive, clean room and comfortable bed. - Cleaning every day to a very high standard, with daily change of towels. - Small plunge pool - Amazing host who went out of our way to help with anything she could and hosted a great bake sale while we were there! - Beach umbrella and mat provided. - Beach towels provided. Was worried about only having a fan and no A/C in our room but it was perfect. Really cool in the nights which was great.

Great little place run by truly lovely people. Mel was fantastic and a very attentive host. Right in the heart of Sayulita but quiet and peaceful when you want to escape. Highly recommended.
